Meet us at The Freight Summit 2009 on October 27-31, 2009, The Venetian Macao. See with your own eyes how the transport industry is going online with self-service freight quotes, bookings and schedule enquiries, arl-shipping.com e-Yield.

The Freight Summit 2009 is the only event to consolidate multiple alliances under one roof to come up with a large attendance of strong independent forwarders from all over the world. At its second year, an attendance of 300-400 strong forwarders (alliance and non alliance forwarders) is expected.
The current economic outlook casts a shadow on the 2009 business environment. Times are tough and the best way for forwarders to survive is to set resilient strategies to adapt to current market conditions by coming closer with current partners while developing new partnerships with new markets.
More and more companies are preserving their resources and cutting costs in every way, yet there are still opportunities to be found!
The Freight Summit is especially designed to help you with increased business opportunities while saving on 2009’s travel expenses. The beauty of TFS is that you can invite your partners (since we are an open event – no membership required) to meet you, you can meet with likeminded reputable forwarders face-to-face and explore new alliances by visiting their booths.

HONG KONG & ROTTERDAM, 17 September 2009 - Port of Tanjung Pelepas, PTP deploy suite of ARL tools for RTG & yard block management; the RTG Deployer, the RTG Dispatcher and the Yard Clash Predictor.
The RTG Deployer calculates the amount of RTGs needed on the yard for the next shifts based on the terminals set target productivity taking the planned and yet un-planned quay crane moves into account. The RTG Dispatcher produces optimized RTG dispatching instructions in real time assuring maximum utilization of all RTGs on the yard by using sophisticated math optimization algorithms. The Yard Clash Predictor concludes, if the currently planned sequence of quay crane moves will result in derived yard clashes, and prompts the terminal to re-plan and eliminate the yard clashes well in advance, securing an un-interrupted quay crane operation.
The optimization tools read the data updated in the Terminal Operating System and constantly apply optimization algorithms to offer the best possible planning and execution scenarios to the operator.
Better planning and optimized operational execution result in less fuel and maintenance expenses, minimal idle time for RTGs on the yard, no delays in quay crane, vessel, rail, or gate operations, and an optimal number of RTGs deployed even during peak times. Planning teams can deploy a low amount of RTGs, yet sufficient to perform all planned moves without delays.

HONG KONG, June 15, 2009 - China Logistics Club, recently deployed ARL's e-Yield Portal solution, part of ARL e-Yield Suite, offering self-service transportation inquiries, online freight quotes and bookings for all customers of China Logistics Club members.
As a 'powered by arl-shipping.com' solution the e-Yield Portal front-end is embedded into the China Logistics Club own web-site and combines all its members transportation offerings. These include all available points of origin and destination, future voyages, and links to the association members own websites where shippers can get a quote and book online.
By offering self-service transportation services 24 hours a day on their website both China Logistic Club and its members could broaden the customer base without significant investments. It is easy for a new customers as well as forwarding partners to select most suitable offering by providing points of origin and destination and select one which fits shipper's needs and then continue to a website of selected transport provider for instant quote and booking online.
"We expect that the members of the forum and their customers receive the new service well" states Henrik Christensen. "Over time we expect to see most of the forum members using the online platform from arl-shipping.com supporting their business growth, allowing them to focus on developing their core services whereas customer support could be automated to the large extent" he ends.
